Figure Out Which Job You Actually Need Done
KWatch.io is a keyword alert tool. You give it words, it watches Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube, and it emails or Slacks you when someone uses one. The free plan covers two Reddit alerts and two Hacker News alerts. Essential is $19 a month, Business is $79, Enterprise is $199. It picked up a lot of new users after GummySearch shut down on 30 November 2025.
People usually go looking for an alternative for one of four reasons. The alerts are too noisy. The price is too high for the volume they get. They need platforms KWatch.io does not cover. Or they signed up expecting research and got a notification feed instead.
That last group is bigger than you would think. A lot of people arrive at a Reddit alert tool because they want to understand an audience, then discover that alerts only show them what gets posted after they set the keyword up. If you have a landing page due Friday, an empty feed is not much help.
So the list below is not ranked best to worst. It is sorted by the job you are trying to do. Five of these tools are alert tools, and we are honest about which one wins in which situation. One of them (ours) is not an alert tool at all, and we say so plainly.

F5Bot
F5Bot has quietly done one job since 2017: it watches Reddit posts and comments, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords, then emails you within minutes. The free tier is genuinely free and has no keyword cap, which makes it the obvious first stop if KWatch.io's pricing is your problem. Paid tiers exist if you want more control. Silver is $9.99 a month for 20 keywords plus filtering. Gold is $49.99 a month for 200 keywords, RSS and JSON feeds, AI filtering, and Slack or Discord delivery. You can set alerts to arrive instantly, batched, or as a daily digest.
Pricing
Free, or $9.99/mo (Silver), or $49.99/mo (Gold)
Best for
Cheapest possible keyword alerts on Reddit and Hacker News
Watch out for
The free tier has no filtering, so a common keyword will flood your inbox. There is no dashboard to speak of, no sentiment scoring, and no X, LinkedIn or YouTube coverage. You get an email and that is the whole product.
RedNudge
RedNudge does Reddit only, and it leans on AI to cut the noise instead of asking you to write filter rules. It scans every 30 minutes, scores each match for relevance, then tags posts by intent: Buy Intent, Recommendation, Complaint or Question. Results arrive as a daily email digest, or in Slack with a one-click connect. You can dismiss matches you do not care about and the scoring adjusts. At $7 a month for the Starter plan it is the cheapest paid option on this list by a wide margin.
Pricing
$7/mo (5 keywords), $15/mo (15 keywords), 7-day free trial
Best for
Cheap Reddit-only alerts with intent tagging built in
Watch out for
Match limits are tight (300 a month on Starter, 1,000 on Pro), so a busy keyword will burn through them. Daily digests mean you are not replying inside the first hour, and it is a much smaller product than KWatch.io with Reddit as the only platform.
Syften
Syften is the pick for people whose real complaint about KWatch.io is noise. Its boolean filter language lets you build precise rules, so you can require two terms together, exclude a subreddit, or ignore a phrase that keeps producing false matches. Entry is $19.95 a month for three filters, 100 daily results and a seven-day archive. Standard at $39.95 gets you 20 filters, 200 daily results, a one-month archive, Slack, AI filtering and API access. Pro at $99.95 gives 100 filters, 500 daily results, an unlimited archive and MCP support so you can wire it into an AI tool.
Pricing
$19.95/mo, $39.95/mo, or $99.95/mo. Free trial, no free tier
Best for
Power users who want precise control over what triggers an alert
Watch out for
X monitoring costs an extra $40 a month and YouTube filters cost $20 a month on top of your plan, so the real bill climbs fast. The boolean syntax also takes a session or two to learn, and there is no permanent free tier.
Octolens
Octolens is built for B2B SaaS teams who treat every mention as a possible deal. It watches Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn, GitHub and more, then uses AI to sort mentions by how relevant and how commercially interesting they are. It suggests replies, routes mentions to the right person, and handles competitor tracking. If your reason for leaving KWatch.io is that you want mentions to feed a sales motion rather than just land in a channel, this is the closest fit on the list.
Pricing
$69/mo (Starter), $99/mo (Pro), $299/mo (Scale), $499+/mo (Enterprise). 7-day trial
Best for
B2B SaaS teams turning developer-community mentions into leads
Watch out for
Starter costs more than three times KWatch.io's Essential plan, so it only makes sense if mentions genuinely turn into revenue. Mention caps apply on every plan (3,000 on Starter) and extras are billed per mention. Also very much aimed at B2B software, so a consumer brand will find the AI scoring less useful.
Brand24
Brand24 is the grown-up social listening platform on this list. It covers far more than Reddit: news, blogs, review sites, podcasts, X, Instagram, TikTok and more. You get sentiment analysis, share of voice, reach estimates, influencer spotting, event detection and client-ready PDF reports. Plans start at $249 a month billed monthly, or $199 if you pay annually, and run to $1,499 for Enterprise. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card.
Pricing
$249/mo to $1,499/mo (roughly 20% less billed annually). 14-day free trial
Best for
Agencies and marketing teams who need reporting, not just alerts
Watch out for
The price jump is enormous. Individual at $249 a month gets you three keywords and 2,000 mentions, which is fewer keywords than KWatch.io's $19 plan. Reddit is one channel among dozens here rather than a focus, so if Reddit is all you care about you are paying a lot for coverage you will not open.
PhraseMine
PhraseMine is not an alert tool, and we would rather say that up front than pretend otherwise. It does the opposite thing: it digs backward through Reddit conversations that already happened and pulls out the language your audience uses. You describe your product and your audience, no keywords needed, and PhraseMine's AI builds the search strategy itself. It runs a broad search of 15 to 25 queries, a focused search of five to 10 that drills into whatever worked, then three to five edge cases for the contrarian angles. Then it reads everything and gives you named themes with real quotes underneath. Every excerpt carries an awareness stage (Eugene Schwartz's five stages) and a research tag: Pain, Dream, Obstacle, Trigger, Identity or Objection. Need three objections for your FAQ section? Filter for objections. It also builds a voice profile you can hand to another writer or an AI drafting tool, and a saturation report that tells you when your research is done and where the gaps still sit.
Pricing
Free (10 credits), $29/mo (100 credits), $99/mo (400 credits), $499/mo (2,200 credits). A session costs 20 credits
Best for
Copywriters who need real customer language for a sales page, email or ad
Watch out for
This will not replace KWatch.io for brand monitoring. There are no alerts, no live feed and no notifications, so nothing pings you when someone mentions you. It is also Reddit only, with none of KWatch.io's five other platforms. And the free tier's 10 credits do not quite cover a full session, so you need a small top-up to finish your first one.

Needed Customer Language, Not Alerts?
If you came looking for a KWatch.io alternative because you wanted to understand how your audience talks, alerts were never going to get you there. PhraseMine reads the Reddit conversations that already happened and hands you real quotes, grouped into themes and tagged by awareness stage. Run your first session and see what your audience has been saying all along.
